This past September, the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management honored Killer Mike by naming a tunnel-boring machine after him. The machine, officially and affectionally known as “Driller Mike,” is used to create an emergency drinking-water supply for the city. Today, the Georgia Senate honored and recognized Mike and Driller Mike for their work as “outstanding ambassadors of the City of Atlanta’s commitment to providing clean, safe drinking water.”

While at the Capitol, Mike delivered a speech to the senate. Among his remarks, he said, “The charge that I give all of us in this hall today is to make sure that Georgia remains an equitable place not only for water, but for education, for workers’ rights, for where we’re living,” according to WABE.
