Album Review
On the Radio: Greatest Hits, Vols. 1-2 originally appeared as a double vinyl set in 1979 and was regarded well enough to make the transition to other formats. The release is an almost complete anthology of her popular ’70s output, including the number one club singles “Love to Love You Baby,” “Try Me, I Know We Can Make It,” “I Remember Yesterday,” “MacArthur Park,” “Bad Girls,” “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough),” and “Hot Stuff.”
Customer Reviews
be warned
Donna Summer was a great artist with lots of great songs. But this is NOT the best collection. Some of her biggest hits like Hot Stuff and Bad Girls are cut even shorter than the radio versions on this album, all to make room for a 13 minute rendition of No More Tears and two versions of On The Radio. Makes no sense. Other compilations like Endless Summer and Donna Summer Gold are much better than this one….all her big hits are on those WITHOUT being cut.
Classic
For nonstop dancing, this is the ultimate must have album. All songs are blended perfectly
My album lives on!
I was so unsure when I purchased this from iTunes whether the crossfades would be like they were on the album because for me in 1979, that was groundbreaking and I fell as much in love with the crossfades as I did the songs themselves. I love this album and am thrilled to be able to hear it all again! If you had the album, buy it here because it’s a perfect compilation and a great tribute to the queen of disco. RIP Donna Summer.

Donna Summer’s title as the “Queen of Disco” wasn’t mere hype. During the ’70s alone, she topped the Billboard club chart 11 times with high-quality, often-high concept material that included the rapturous “Love to Love You Baby,” the…
